Directions to Cavendish from the Confederation Bridge
If you're driving to Prince Edward Island from the west, you'll come over the Confederation Bridge; what follows are directions from the Prince Edward Island side of the bridge to the Kindred Spirits Country Inn in Cavendish, home of the conference.
Coming off the bridge, if you need gas, our want to pick up a map, follow the signs for Gateway Village, which is a veer to the right as you come into the community of Borden-Carleton on PEI. Otherwise, simply continue on past onto Route 1 and follow the signs to Charlottetown, which will take you to the East once you come to the Summerside/Charlottetown split about 5 minutes along.
Follow Route 1 towards Charlottetown until you come to the small village of Crapaud (pronounced Crap-oh, should you have the need). You'll see an arena and a curling rink on your right coming down into Crapaud, and you'll see the Red Rooster Restaurant (not a bad place to stop for a bite at this point). In the heart of Crapaud, take Route 13 to your left towards Cavendish and Hunter River.
Follow Route 13 all the way across the width of Prince Edward Island -- about a 30 minute drive if you make good time. The first bit after Crapaud wends and winds somewhat, so drive carefully. Eventually you'll come to Hunter River. Be careful going across Route 2, as there will be cars and trucks speeding along, ignoring you. Continue on along Route 13 until, about 20 minutes later, you come to the intersection of Route 6. You're now in Cavendish.
Turn left onto Route 6, and up a bit and on the left, past the signs for the Green Gables attraction, you'll see Memory Lane. Turn left onto Memory Lane and you'll be at the Inn.
